FAQ

Questions men ask before getting started

What is Virsentio?

We help men get connected to and started with therapy. Tell us what you're looking for, and we'll recommend therapists from our network who work with men, with a reason for each one.

Is Virsentio a therapy practice?

No. We aren't clinicians, and we don't provide therapy. We connect you with independent, licensed therapists from our network.

Who is Virsentio for?

Men 18 and older in the U.S. who want to start therapy, whether it's your first time looking or you're trying again.

How does it work?

You fill out a 5–7 minute questionnaire. A real person reviews your answers, and you'll hear back from us with therapist options and why we picked each one. You choose who you'd like to work with, and we help you set up the first appointment.

How do you decide which therapists to recommend?

We start with your preferences: what's going on, what you want from therapy, and the kind of person you want to talk to. Then we look at the practical side, like your state, insurance, whether you want in person or virtual, and when you're available.

What if I don't know what I need?

That's normal. You don't need the right words or a diagnosis. Tell us what's going on in your own words, and we'll take it from there.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can start on your own.

Can I fill this out for someone else?

Yes. Answer the questions as if you were him, and we'll be in touch with options.

Do I have to get on the phone?

No. Most coordination happens by text or email.

What happens after I choose a therapist?

We help you set up your first appointment. Your therapist gets your name and contact information so they can reach you. From there, you work with them directly.

How much does it cost?

Finding a therapist through Virsentio is zero-cost. You pay your therapist directly for your sessions, through insurance or out of pocket.

Does Virsentio take insurance?

We aren't clinicians, so we don't bill insurance. Many of the independent therapists in our network do. If you want to use insurance, tell us your plan and we'll recommend therapists who take it.

Can I use Medicare or Medicaid?

Not right now. We aren't able to help men using Medicare or Medicaid at this time.

Where is Virsentio available?

We only work with men in the U.S. Therapists have to be licensed in the state where you're located during your sessions, so we recommend therapists licensed in your state.

Can I meet in person or online?

Both. Tell us what you prefer, and we'll recommend therapists who offer it.

Can you help with medication or a psychiatrist?

No. We help men find therapists, not psychiatrists or medication.

Do you help with couples therapy?

Not right now. Reach out and we'll point you to resources.

What if I'm in crisis?

Virsentio isn't an emergency service. If you're in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
